Dr. Warren Riggle has cared for pets as a general practitioner at the Animal Hospital of North Asheville since 1980. A native of Ohio, Dr. Riggle decided to become a veterinarian while he was an undergraduate at the College of Wooster. Veterinary medicine combines his passion for medicine, animals and helping pets and their owners.Working with clients and their pets is very rewarding to Dr. Riggle and he enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine.

He attended the College at Wooster in Wooster, Ohio and received his Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, with a minor in Biology, in 1974. Dr. Riggle continued his veterinary education at the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1978.

Internal medicine, dermatology, endocrinology and cardiology are among Dr. Riggle's many professional interests. Dr. Riggle answers questions about veterinary medicine on WCQS with David Hurrand on "Conversations." He is a member of the American Animal Hospital Association, American Veterinary Medical Society, North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association, and Veterinary Information Network. 

Dr. Riggle's animal companions include two cats, Kasey and Molly, and three dogs, Obie, Old Dog and Winnie. Obie often accompanies Dr. Riggle to local schools to talk about veterinary medicine. Dr. Riggle loves Asheville and can often be found outside enjoying the beautiful area. He and his wife, Pam, love to garden. Dr. Riggle enjoys watching basketball, football and baseball in his spare time. He also is an active member of his church and volunteers for church activities. He and Pam are the proud parents of two adult children, Jamie and Ben, and are blessed with a five-year-old granddaughter, Addyson.
