What do the letters mean behind the trainers name?

ACAAB: Associate Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist, approved by Animal Behavior Society

CABC: Certified Animal Behavior Consultant, approved by International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants

CDBC: Certified Dog Behavior Consultant, approved by International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants

CPDT-KA: Certified Professional Dog Trainer- Knowledge Assessed, approved by Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers

ABCDT: Certified by/Graduated from Animal Behavior College

We recommend working with a trainer that is at least certified through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, which will be indicated with the letters CPDT-KA or CPDT-KSA behind the trainer’s name. This national certification requires a certain amount of experience and a solid knowledge of learning theory and behavioral science.
