With both Christmas and New Year’s Day falling on a Sunday, Animal Hospital of North Asheville will be closed not only Christmas Day and New Year’s Day but also the day before each holiday in order to allow our hard working staff time to enjoy the holidays with their families. Whenever we are not open, Regional Emergency Animal Care Hospital (REACH) is available at 677 Brevard Road. Please call them at 828-665-4399 to let them know you are on the way.

We want to take a moment during this Thanksgiving time to say how thankful we are for all of the families that trust us to care for their animal companions. We know they are beloved members of the family because we feel the same way about our furry family members. We strive every day to provide the level of medical care and compassion we would want shown to our babies.

We are so thankful for the compassionate veterinarians, client care team, patient care team, hospital care team, and management of the AHNA family that we get to work with each day. The dedication and love for...

Our staff have been kept quite busy attending continuing education seminars and conferences this fall. We thank them for keeping us up-to-date on the ever-evolving knowledge available to provide the best care for your pet.

Registered Veterinary Technicians Kelly, Robin and Lisa attended the Greater Smokey Mountains Veterinary Conference, October 29 through November 2. Each one attended variety of different lectures and all came back excited about the new information they had gained. Kelly enjoyed learning more about proteinuria, feline pancreatitis, and diabetic ketoacidosis. Robin...

Please help us as we once again hold our annual Holiday Pet Food Drive to help needy dogs and cats in our community. A great many dogs and cats will need food and warmth this winter, so please donate to help them! There is nothing that we appreciate as much at holiday time as gifts of pet food for our pet food drive.

Stop in for Pet Trick or Treating on Wednesday, October 26th at Animal Hospital of North Asheville!

Our Education Room will be decorated for Halloween and we will have treats for people and pets, so please stop in between 6 and 7 PM on October 26. Our pet treats are healthy and low calorie.

This is a costume friendly event, but costumes are certainly not required. If your four-legged friend enjoys dressing up, we would love to see them! If your pet doesn't enjoy festivities, then please feel free to stop by and say hello without your pet. This event is not recommended for...

Put your best paw forward by joining fellow animal lovers at the premier charity gala of the season!

Animal Hospital of North Asheville is again the presenting sponsor for Taste of Compassion. We support this event because it is a large fund raiser for Asheville Humane Society and the proceeds go to helping needy animals in our own community. This enjoyable event features great food and drink as well as wonderful auction items.

From team building exercises during orientation week in August of 1999 until graduation in the big arena in May of 2003, Drs. Garner and Loveless spent four years as classmates and friends at NC State College of Veterinary Medicine. There were about seventy students in the veterinary class of 2003, but the rigors of veterinary study and the numerous extracurricular activities (intramural softball, anyone?) often translate into memories that last a lifetime even when the graduates go their separate ways. Which is why Dr. Garner and Dr. Loveless are excited to be reunited by working at...

Meet Kali – a very lucky dog!

Kali is a beautiful, intelligent and loyal 7 year-old girl who might just be the luckiest dog I know. I first met Kali when she was adopted from the Asheville Humane Society as a puppy, and her family absolutely adores her. Kali and her family love to travel and go on outdoor adventures, so she goes along on all of the camping, hiking and canoeing trips that they take. I always love to hear about their trips, and all of the places they have seen and gone. But this summer’s adventure took a scary turn when she slipped and...

Did you know if you have an Amazon account that you can support your favorite charity every time you shop at Amazon with no cost to you? It is a great way to help local charities in Asheville. It includes some of our favorite organizations:

Pet Behavior Aid:

“The mission of Pet Behavior Aid is to increase the retention of companion animals in their homes in Asheville and Western NC through education and training programs for people who have dogs or cats, animal shelter and rescue workers, and the general community.” Tristan Rehner, CPDT-KA of Pet Behavior gives free...
