Becky, beloved pet of Karen Youncke, was a faithful and devoted friend. "She was my precious little girl. She was always there for me," says Karen. "I adopted her when she was 3-years-old from a Daschund rescue group. She was so patient and devoted to me. We did everything together. She especially loved to go walking on the Biltmore Estate. In fact, I couldn't say the word 'Biltmore' around her because she would get so excited. All the staff knew her there and she could walk and chase ducks, which was one of her favorite things to do. Recently on my way to work at AHNA, I was horrified to see a cat hit by a car along I-26. I immediately stopped to see if I could help, and unfortunately the poor kitty was already dead. My dog Mac was rescued when he was only 3-4 weeks old and was so covered with ticks and fleas that he almost bled to death. He was a determined little guy and with great medical care and love from people who adored him, he made it. He was diagnosed with severe allergies of unknown origin when he was about two and has coped with the itching, allergy testing, assortment of medications and shots ever since. He has torn his cornea twice, yet he just keeps on being wonderful.

One evening when I got home from work, I took Gypsy out for a walk. We were returning home when Gypsy started pulling on the leash towards my next door...
