AHNA Proud to be a ‘Top Dog’ Sponsor for the Taste of Compassion

Taste of Compassion: A Wine Tasting and Silent Auction Event that Benefits Animals in Need

Mark your calendar for the 8th Annual Taste of Compassion! Animal Compassion Network is once again hosting a wine tasting and silent auction that will benefit the homeless pets of WNC, and Animal Hospital of North Asheville is proud to be a ‘Top Dog’ sponsor. All your friends at AHNA want you to come!  It is so much fun! Be sure to stop by our display. Taste of Compassion takes place Thursday, November 10 from 6 PM – 9 PM at The Venue in downtown Asheville.

Guests will enjoy free tastings of over 30 wines from around the world, vegetarian hors d’oeuvres and desserts, live music by One Leg Up, and free parking and trolley service to the event space.
The event will also feature the Taste of Compassion Silent Auction. Businesses and individuals have generously donated a wide-range of desirable items this year, ranging from autographed first-edition books by bestselling authors, vacations, art, jewelry, spa treatments and more (including gift certificates for care at Animal Hospital of North Asheville). A 2012 Outback, donated by Prestige Subaru, will also be auctioned off at the event.

“Animal Compassion Network is thrilled that once again, AHNA has signed on for a Top Dog Sponsorship for the Taste of Compassion,” said Eileen Bouressa, Animal Compassion Network’s Executive Director.  “In our eighth year, this wine tasting and silent auction is the main fundraiser for our Foster/Adoption Program that pulls animals out of the shelter and houses them in foster homes until adoption. We can always count on Animal Hospital of North Asheville to support this lifesaving event by coming in at the highest sponsorship level, and also by donating gift certificates for their outstanding care to the silent auction. These are always amongst the most popular of the 200 silent auction items available for bid. I also just have to say that we have the best time at the event with the doctors and staff. If you've never seen Dr. Dave Thompson dance, it's worth coming just for that! We so appreciate all of the yearlong support we receive from AHNA, and so do the hundreds of animals who are living happy and healthy lives today thanks to their generosity.”

Tickets are $30 in advance or $35 at the door and will be available at Pet Harmony, ACN’s adoption center and pet supply store, at 803 Fairview St. in South Asheville just off Hendersonville Rd. next to Province 620. Tickets are also available online at www.animalcompassionnetwork.org.
If you have an item or a service that you would like to donate for the silent auction, please contact Ann McMartin at 828-674-9722.  Auction donations will be accepted until October 28.  For more information about Taste of Compassion please visit animalcompassionnetwork.org.
