A day filled with compassion and love for senior pets
There is something special that touches our hearts when we see the silver in the muzzle, the cloudiness of the eyes, and the slower gait of an aging pet. Senior pets are special beyond words.
We had the honor to participate not only as a sponsor, vendor, and speaker, but also as fellow pet owners in the Angel Pets Conference and Expo. We were part of a large group of like-minded individuals who have been touched by the love of a senior pet.
The day was filled with amazing speakers, such as our own Dr. Kasandra Garner, who presented topics from senior medical care to senior pet care resources. Dr. Beth Marchitelli of 4 Paws Farewell presented animal hospice care and end of life topics for our pets as well as assessing pet quality of life. Coleen Ellis, CT, CLCP of Two Hearts Pet Loss Pet Center covered topics on pet loss grief support for ourselves and others. Dr. Angel Mitchell of Bonnie Brae Veterinary Hospital covered Senior Pet Nutritional needs and research updates.
The Expo was filled with vendors offering products and services to help improve a pet's quality of life.
We enjoyed the day of catching up with old friends and familiar faces from AHNA, while making new friends (some big and some small) and helping educate the community on how to help your pet live a happy and healthy life no matter what their age.
The goal of the Angel Pets Conference and Expo was to create a support network for families with aging pets. For that reason, there is going to be an Angel Pets Social on Thursday, July 11th at 6:30 pm at Tupelo Honey South Asheville.
This is a pet-lovers social and follow-up from the magical Angel Pets Expo and Angel Pets Conference. Expo vendors, Expo attendees, conference attendees, Angel Pets Supporters, and all pet lovers are welcome to join us in socializing, talking and networking about all things pets! Please RSVP on the Bright Star Studio meet up at: https://www.meetup.com/Bright-Star-Studio/events/262233635/?isFirstPublish=true.
The pioneering Angel Pets conference covered many topics on senior pet care needs, end-of-life care, caregiver support, and grief healing. We hope these meetups will continue offering support to the pet-loving community and be an opportunity to learn, chat and have fun!
