Canine Influenza Update

A new strain of influenza is causing an outbreak of respiratory disease in our area.  While we have a vaccine for the H3N8 strain of influenza, there is no vaccine for this new H3N2 strain, so we are recommending that you do not let your dog congregate with other dogs until the outbreak ends. Unfortunately, we cannot predict when that will occur. In order to prevent spread of the influenza virus, we are not allowing any dog with respiratory symptoms in our parking lot or hospital. All appointments for dogs with respiratory symptoms are being made for a separate auxiliary building with its own parking.
