This year Animal Hospital of North Asheville Puppy Preschool celebrates the big "6"! Time has flown fly, puppies have grown, and we have had a blast!
Six years ago we opened the doors to our first Animal Hospital of North Asheville's Puppy Preschool session. Our goal was to offer a clean and safe space to aid in the education and socialization of puppies during one of their critical learning periods. We wanted to also strengthen the bond and understanding between families and their puppies. In using positive activities, we aim to encourage investigation and interaction, stimulate the senses, build confidence, and learn appropriate boundaries.
We started with 3 puppies in our first class. We have enjoyed watching Preschool grow from one class of three puppies to routinely offering two sessions on Thursday nights. But the true reward has been the chance to watch our Preschoolers grow over the years. It is hard to believe our first Preschooler is 6 years old. He still gets excited to come to the vet.
Our sessions have grown and incorporated new knowledge but the one thing that has remained the same is the families. They are the heart and soul of Preschool. We feel so lucky to meet new families and puppies and are always so excited to see previous Preschool families return with their newest furry family member. It is a joy to help the puppies build confidence as they grow.
