Extended Hours and 24-Hour Nursing Care

It is common for family members to arrive home from work and suddenly find that their pet needs veterinary care. For this reason, Animal Hospital of North Asheville has offered late afternoon and evening hours for over 20 years. For the convenience of our working families, we also offer wellness appointments during the evening. At Animal Hospital of North Asheville, we are truly dedicated to your pet’s well-being and comfort.

One way we show this is by having a veterinarian(s) and staff available at a moment’s notice to provide emergency care to your pet. Many veterinary hospitals have periods during the day that a veterinarian is not onsite, but we are here to give life saving care more hours per week than any other general veterinary hospital in this area. We are open during the week from 8:00 AM until 8:30 PM each night and from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM on Saturday. For patients admitted to the hospital during the week, our 24 hour nursing care allows our patients to avoid being left unattended in a veterinary hospital or having to travel to an emergency hospital for nursing care during the night.

Should your pet require emergency services after Saturday (5:00PM) or before Monday (7:30AM), both REACH (Regional Emergency Animal Care Hospital) and WCRAHVEH (Western Carolina Regional Animal Hospital & Veterinary Emergency Hospital) are open and accepting emergencies at this time. Both hospitals have doctors and nursing staff on the premises whenever we are closed. They will provide our hospital with a digital record of your pet's visit, to be placed in your pet's permanent medical record and reviewed by one of our doctors. We will reopen on Mondays at 7:30AM. Please call AHNA to schedule a follow-up medical exam at this time should one be needed.

Our family loves Animal Hospital of North Asheville. They have always been there for our critters for both routine and/or emergency care. The doctors and staff provide professional, top of the line care with compassion and dignity. Animal Hospital of North Asheville is definitely a unique veterinary service and we are fortunate to have them as part of our community. Thank you all.

There was a Sunday, several years ago, that Montana became ill. It was such a blessing to have AHNA staff available at 4 pm on Sunday. Thank-you for your state of the art and very compassionate care.
