Our veterinarians and the AHNA Patient Care Team (approximately 40 of us) were fortunate to participate in a three hour seminar on Wednesday, March 16 on Preventing Pain in our patients presented in our Education Room at AHNA by Mark E. Epstein, DVM, DABVP, CVPP. Dr. Epstein was well-qualified to present on this topic as he is a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP, Canine/Feline Practice) and is a past-president of that organization. He is certified by the American Academy of Pain Management, and a Certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner by the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management and is a also a past-president of IVAPM. He served as Chair of the AAHA Senior Care Guidelines Task Force, and co-Chair of the 2015 AAHA/AAFP Pain Management Guidelines Task Force.
At Animal Hospital of North Asheville, we are constantly learning and, of course, we are always striving to remain current on how to best prevent pain in our patients, so AHNA would like to sincerely thank Dr. Epstein and Elanco for providing this excellent seminar and for the delicious fajita bar that we all enjoyed.
