Carla Horstmann is the Veterinary Technician Supervisor at AHNA. An important member of our staff since 1980, Carla has a Master's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She enjoys working at AHNA because the staff is comprised of the kindest and most compassionate people she has ever known, and she gets to work beside them every day, utilizing the most up-to-date technology and patient-care protocols. Carla not only supervises our superb veterinary technicians and the rest of the Patient Care Team but is highly skilled in patient care as well.
Carla's four-legged family members include a fun and beloved group of dogs who are big on personality: Alberta Hunter, Jiminy Cricket, and Poppy Seed. Her cat, Dennis (who has to supervise the dogs), and two sweet horses, Luke and Boo, round out the family. When she's not at the hospital, Carla enjoys camping, hiking, gardening, going to yard sales and flea markets, playing basketball, and spending time with friends, family, and her four legged friends.
