In an emergency, seconds count. Our experienced staff is equipped to administer the ABC's of basic life support - Airway, Breathing, Circulation/Cardiac compressions. When possible, we ask that you call ahead before bringing your pet in for emergency treatment. This allows us to better prepare for your pet's care.
Emergency care is offered during regular business hours. Because of our staffing of 8 doctors and 36 employees, we have availabilities and capabilities and equipment that can often make a life and death difference. Our staffing from Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 pm, makes it extremely probable that a doctor will be available.
Should your pet require emergency services after Saturday (5:00PM) or before Monday (7:30AM), both REACH (Regional Emergency Animal Care Hospital) and WCRAHVEH (Western Carolina Regional Animal Hospital & Veterinary Emergency Hospital) are open and accepting emergencies at this time. Both hospitals have doctors and nursing staff on the premises whenever we are closed. They will provide our hospital with a digital record of your pet's visit, to be placed in your pet's permanent medical record and reviewed by one of our doctors. We will reopen on Mondays at 7:30AM. Please call AHNA to schedule a follow-up medical exam at this time should one be needed.
