Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Veterinarian (DVM) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing high-quality veterinary care and possess excellent communication skills to build lasting relationships with our clients. You will work alongside a team of experienced veterinarians, technicians, and support staff and will work closely with the Hospital Manager and Regional Manager.

Key Responsibilities
- Comprehensive patient exams and medical work-ups
- Client communication and education
- Performing diagnostic procedures and surgery
- Maintaining accurate medical records
- Pharmacy duties such as prescribing medications to patients and following controlled substance protocols

- Evaluate and monitor protocols for the daily running of the hospital from intake to discharge
- Monitor cases in the hospital and attend daily rounds when possible to be sure the highest standards are being upheld

Qualifications (Required)
- Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited college or university
- Current State Veterinary License
- DEA registration must be obtained and maintained
- 1+ years of experience in a veterinary practice
- Strong diagnostic and clinical skills.
- Excellent surgical and dental skills.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality veterinary care.
- Excellent Communication Skills and the ability to communicate effectively, efficiently, and in a timely manner with all members of the Medical and Hospital staff.
- Client communication skills, must be able to elicit information, establish rapport, offer explanations with pet owners.
- Display confidence and reassurance when dealing with pets experiencing severe stress, illness, or pain.
- May include some climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Some tasks involve the periodic performance of moderately physically demanding work.
- Position does require the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Position Overview
Join our team as a Care Coordinator who contributes to the success of a high-performing organization committed to delivering superior care and exceptional service. Performs a range of administrative and customer service tasks, providing valuable support to the hospital. Within the veterinary field, this position aligns closely with roles often titled Veterinary Receptionist, Customer Service Representative, or Client Care Specialist.
Animal Hospital of North Asheville in Asheville, North Carolina, combines high-quality medicine with a strong sense of community, offering a supportive team environment in a beautiful and vibrant area. We are a busy 7-doctor practice that has been an established part of the Asheville community for more than 40 years.

Job duties include (but are not limited to)
- Answer and direct incoming calls in a kind and efficient manner
- Greet clients and pets as they enter
- Verify and document client and patient info in our electronic medical records system
- Schedule and confirm all appointment types
- Ensure the lobby remains tidy, sanitary, and odor free
- Telephone triage and initial triage of walk in cases (training provided)
- Handling financial transactions with accuracy and care
- Other related duties as assigned
Competencies:
A successful Care Coordinator candidate must be able and eager to work in a fast paced environment to ensure client care is handled quickly and accurately. Strong communication skills face-to-face, by phone, and by email are essential. Working cooperatively as part of a team is also necessary.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Customer service experience
- Ability to efficiently and effectively use basic computer functions including Microsoft suite, email, internet search function, etc.
- Knowledge of and ability to follow an organizational system (alphabetizing, etc)
- Ability to provide great customer service in a caring, compassionate, and efficient manner
- Ability to perform cashier duties with minimal errors
- Ability to multitask while paying close attention to detail
- Ability to work up to 2 evenings per week and every other Saturday rotation
- Tasks may include extended periods of time sat a keyboard and workstation and /or extended periods of time standing and/ or walking. Some time may be spent sitting at a work station but sitting is not required.
- May include occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling as well as lifting or carrying moderately heavy items up to 50 lbs (pet food, cat carriers, etc).
- Must be willing to go through Fear Free Certification program (no cost) and perform in a accordance with Fear Free guidelines.
- Must be able to handle stressful conversations with compassion (end of life, financial, etc).
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
- Veterinary or animal care industry and medical terminology knowledge
Schedule
- Full-Time, Rotating shifts.
- Must be able to work 1 or 2 evening shifts per week (10:30AM-8:45PM) and every other Saturday rotation (8AM-5PM).
- 4x10-hour shift is typical but could work with other schedules for the right candidate.
