About Dr. Mary Holly Castro
Dr. Mary Holly Castro was born and raised in Madison, MS. Dressing up as a veterinarian on career day in kindergarten, she knew what she wanted to be when she grew up from a very young age. Growing up with 10 cats, 5 dogs, and parents who rehabilitated wildlife further solidified her passion for helping animals.
She attended Ole Miss for her undergraduate program, where she majored in Biology and Spanish with a minor in chemistry. She went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2025, although she is an Ole Miss Rebel fan at heart- Hotty Toddy! In between undergraduate and veterinary school, she owned her own pet sitting business where she developed a love for not only working with animals, but also growing lifelong friendships with their owners.
While she loves all aspects of veterinary medicine, she has a special interest in reproduction, surgery, and internal medicine. She values the knowledge she is able to gain from digging deeper into more intensive cases as well as the reward of making a difference in patients’ lives. She strives to form deeper, long-lasting relationships with clients and the ability to get to know them on a deeper level.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Castro enjoys working out, hiking with her husband and their five Australian Shepherds, and relaxing on their screened in porches with their 7 cats.
Dr. Castro is so excited to be at a clinic where she feels she can blossom into the best doctor she can be and where staff go above and beyond to care for their patients.
