We are excited that many of our awesome staff are helping raise donations to support Asheville Humane Society in the WNC's Pet of the Year Contest. The Animal Hospital of North Asheville and our super staff are proud supporters of the Asheville Humane Society (AHS). We are impressed by all the hard work, dedication, compassion and care that the Asheville Humane Society provides the community, not only by saving lives of homeless pets, but also by allowing time for pets to heal physically and emotionally before they find their forever homes. Eiko Ferguson Robas is a German Shepherd with beautiful red/black/sable coloring. His parents, Anna Ferguson and Joe Robas of Hot Springs, NC, adopted him from Windy Hill Kennels near Nashville, Tennessee. Since coming into their lives at 8 weeks at 12.7lbs, he’s grown to 52.3 pounds at 5 months and growing every day.

My dog Mac was rescued when he was only 3-4 weeks old and was so covered with ticks and fleas that he almost bled to death. He was a determined little guy and with great medical care and love from people who adored him, he made it. He was diagnosed with severe allergies of unknown origin when he was about two and has coped with the itching, allergy testing, assortment of medications and shots ever since. He has torn his cornea twice, yet he just keeps on being wonderful.

Who could resist that smile? Not us! That's why Maggie is our Pet Pic of the Day. She is a 9-year-old Standard Poodle. She is extremely sweet and has a happy tail when she see us.
